Shami needs more time to recover

After this they will also have to prove their fitness. In November this year, Team India will tour Australia for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

Shami wanted to play domestic cricket

When Shami recovered after surgery, he expressed his desire to play in domestic cricket. However, he was not included in any squad for the Duleep Trophy and Irani Cup. In such a situation, Shami was left to play only in Ranji Trophy for Bengal, but now even this seems difficult due to the re-emergence of ankle injury.
