Every year Karva Chauth is celebrated on the Chaturthi of Krishna Paksha in the Hindu month of Kartik.

According to Drik Panchang, this year Kartik Krishna Paksha Chaturthi Tithi will start at 06:46 AM on October 20 and will end at 04:16 AM on October 21.

The timing of Nirjala fast observed on this festival is from 06:25 am to 07:54 pm on 20th October.

Importance of Karva Chauth

Karva Chauth is an important festival for married women. On this occasion, women do sixteen adornments and keep a waterless fast for their husbands and pray for his good health, longevity and to stay together for seven births.

Karva Chauth fasting is considered very difficult because on this day women keep fast without consuming food or water till the sight of the moon. After the moon rises, offer water to the moon and view it by placing a burning lamp on the surface of the sieve, then look at your husband’s face through it.
