The next big challenge for Team India, which is busy playing against New Zealand at home, is the tour of South Africa and Australia. India has to play four T20s in South Africa, while it has to play a five-match Test series in Australia. For this, the squads were also announced recently. India has to leave for Australia on November 10 and due to this it is difficult for head coach Gautam Gambhir to go to South Africa. In such a situation, there is news of Team India getting the support of former Indian player VVS Laxman on the South Africa tour. According to the information, Laxman will be seen playing the role of head coach in the upcoming T20 series.
VVS Laxman’s coaching staff also revealed
BCCI has not yet officially announced VVS Laxman as the head coach of Team India for the South Africa tour, but a top official has confirmed this entire development to Cricbuzz. Along with Laxman, the staff involved in the NCA and other coaches will also go to South Africa, which includes the names of Sairaj Bahutule, Hrishikesh Kanitkar, and Subhadeep Ghosh. All three were also seen working with India A in the Emerging Asia Cup played recently in Oman.
Let us tell you that the four-match T20 series between India and South Africa was not fixed earlier but it was announced some time ago. This is also the reason for criticism because this tour is to be held amid India’s domestic cricket. Because of this, many important players will not be able to play domestic cricket for some time. Team India has to start the tour from November 8. After this, the next three matches are to be played on November 10, 13 and 15 respectively.
