The Government of India has sent a notice to Wikipedia. This notice mentions the complaints made against him in the last months and things like bias. It states why Wikipedia should not be considered a publisher rather than an arbiter.
Besides, Delhi High Court has also reprimanded Wikipedia for wrongly editing the page of Asian News International (ANI). A few days ago, Delhi High Court had also said that if someone does not like India then he can leave the country.
What did the court say?
Delhi High Court has said that if someone’s Wikipedia page is edited wrongly and the company supports it, then it is completely wrong. Justice Subramaniam Prasad said that if he himself calls himself an arbitrator, then what problem are you facing in this. If something has been edited wrongly then Wikipedia should not stand by it at all.
This controversy got its roots when someone edited the Wikipedia page of ANI and wrote that it is a propaganda tool of the government. Along with this, many things were wrongly edited on the Wikipedia page. At that time the court had said that those who have wrongly edited ANI’s Wikipedia page. Their names should be disclosed.

Wikipedia was started in the year 2001. The person who started it was Jimmy Wales, Larry Sanger. It was also launched in Hindi in the year 2003. According to the information, every month 1.7 billion users use Wikipedia for information.
