ICC Approves Hybrid Model for Champions Trophy After Jai Shah’s Arrival

The big news is coming about the Champions Trophy. The International Cricket Council i.e. ICC has reached a consensus to organize next year’s Champions Trophy in a hybrid model, which will allow India to play its share of matches in Dubai.

Along with this, it is also being said that the ICC has agreed in principle to a similar arrangement in multi-lateral tournaments by 2027.

The matter was settled in an informal meeting!

According to a top ICC source, the decision was more or less finalized during an informal meeting between the new chairman of the organization Jay Shah, and the Board of Directors, including Pakistan, at the ICC headquarters in Dubai on Thursday. The ICC source told PTI-

It has been agreed in principle by all the parties that the 2025 Champions Trophy will be held in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Pakistan and India will play their matches in Dubai. This is a win-win situation for all stakeholders.

The Champions Trophy is scheduled to be held in February-March next year. Pakistan had sought a similar arrangement for itself till 2031, withdrawing its boycott threat and agreeing to go hybrid at the last ICC meeting last week, although the ICC has agreed to a hybrid model for all its tournaments till 2027.
