Mumbai Police on Saturday received a message threatening to kill Prime Minister Narendra Modi. An official gave this information. The official said that the number from which this message was sent has been traced to Ajmer in Rajasthan and a police team was immediately sent there to catch the suspect.
He said that the WhatsApp message received on the traffic police helpline in the early hours mentioned an agent of the Pakistani intelligence agency ‘ISI’ and talked about a conspiracy to bomb Modi. The official said that the investigating officers suspected that the person sending the message was mentally deranged or was drunk. He said that an investigation is going on in the case. An FIR has been registered under the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code. The Mumbai Traffic Police helpline has received fake threatening messages many times before.
Earlier also death threats were received on the phone.
