In a separate incident on Wednesday, an army soldier was injured in cross-border firing along the Line of Control (LoC) in Rajouri district, Jammu and Kashmir. The soldier was stationed at a forward post in the Kalsiyan area, part of the Nowshera sector.

Reports suggest that the soldier was hit by a suspected sniper attack from across the border. Following the attack, the injured soldier received first aid at the scene before being evacuated to a military hospital in Udhampur for further treatment.
