All trains to Bihar are packed because of the Chhath festival. That caused another fatal train incident this month. A coach in a train passing through Sarai Bhopat railway station in UP’s Etawah district caught fire on Wednesday evening. eight passengers including a minor sustained burn injured.
Fire erupted in the Delhi-Darbhanga Clone Special !!
The fire erupted in the S1 sleeper coach of the 02570 Delhi-Darbhanga Clone Special near Etawah in Uttar Pradesh. The train was passing through the Sarai Bhopat station when the smoke was noticed. The fire occurred around 2 am in the S-6 coach. Several passengers jumped out of the train as soon as it caught on fire. Etawah district magistrate Avanish Kumar Rai said, “A total of eight passengers had suffered minor burn injuries and all are being treated at the district hospital. Further, after a preliminary check, the Humsafar Express with unaffected coaches has left for Darbhanga.” Injured passengers were identified as Kanchan, Harendra, Akriti, Manoj Chppal, Raunak Raj, Dayanand, and Sunita Devi.
A video from the spot showed a massive blaze engulfing one of the coaches as passengers and officials stood around it. All trains to Bihar are packed because of the Chhath festival. A passenger said, “I was going to Chhapra. All of a sudden some smoke rose. It felt as if I’d die. There was too much crowd. I jumped out of the window and my luggage caught fire…There were too many people.”

“While train number 02570 ‘Darbhanga Clone Special’ was passing through the Sarai Bhopal Railway station in Uttar Pradesh, the station master immediately stopped the train after seeing smoke in the S1 coach…All passengers in the train were disembarked safely and there are no injuries or causalities,” said Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) of North Central Railways. The cause of the fires is yet to be ascertained, police said.
