Ben Stokes Out, MS Dhoni to Lead CSK in IPL 2024 - Check the Full Squad

The most successful team in IPL, Chennai Super Kings(CSK), has won the title 5 times. The team captained by Mahendra Singh Dhoni had won the IPL 2023 by defeating Hardik Pandya-led Gujarat Titans in the final. MS team also holds the record of reaching IPL playoffs the most number of times. In such a situation, this team is considered a strong contender every year!

England’s star all-rounder Ben Stokes, who is in CSK, is already out of the IPL. Stokes has decided not to play IPL 2024 considering the upcoming busy schedule, which was confirmed by the franchise itself. However, the team did not give Stokes many chances in the last edition as well. In such a situation, CSK has released all-rounder Ben Stokes.

Apart from this, Chennai Super Kings has also released Dwayne Pretorius and Bhagat Verma among all-rounders. Dwele was included in Chennai for Rs 50 lakh and Bhagat for Rs 20 lakh. Also, batsmen Shubhranshu Senapati, Magala, Akash, and fast bowler Kylie Jameson were released.

Ambayati Rayudu, who has been associated with CSK for a long time, was also released as he had announced his retirement before the edition.

Each team will have a purse of Rs 100 crore (approximately US$12.02 million) for the IPL 2024 season, which is Rs 5 crore more than last season’s purse of Rs 95 crore. Apart from this, how much each team has to spend in the Mini Auction 2024 will depend on how much money is left over from the money spent in the 2023 auction and the value of the players they have released.

CSK has a purse of Rs 32.2 crore for the mini-auction.
