Baba Balaknath's Resignation from Parliament Sends Shockwaves !!

BJP’s MPs Baba Balaknath, Pralhad Patel, and many more resigned from the Parliament after meeting with the Speaker!! Baba Balaknath is also known as Mahant Balaknath Yogi. He serves as the Chancellor of the Baba Mastnath University. Balaknath is also the 8th head of the Nath sect in the Hindu religion.

Baba Balaknath, has resigned from his Lok Sabha membership, why?

Baba Balaknath has resigned from his Lok Sabha membership by resigning the Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla today. Baba Balaknath was a contestant in recent state assembly elections from Alwar’s Tijara constituency and won the Rajasthan Assembly election from Tijara. 

According to the Constitution of India, all members of the Parliament who won state assembly elections, have to resign from their position as Lok Sabha members. Many members of the Parliament have also won state Assembly Elections, like Baba Balaknath, and Pralhad Singh Patel. The decision to resign all those MPs was taken after having a meeting with the party president JP Nadda and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. 

 BJP has the majority with 301 MPs, Congress is the party in Opposition with 50!!

The results of the state Assembly elections were declared some days after the election. But BJP is yet to declare CM candidates for Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh.

BJP’s Prahlad Patel has said, “After meeting BJP president JP Nadda, I have resigned as Lok Sabha MP. Soon, I will also resign from the Cabinet.” Ten out of  12 BJP MPs won the assembly polls in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh. Rajyavardhan Rathore, Kirodi Lal Meena, and Diya Kumari resigned from the Parliament to serve Rajasthan. But Baba Balaknath from Rajasthan and Renuka Singh from Chhattisgarh haven’t submitted their resignation yet.

Former Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar, Minister of State for Food Processing Industries of India Prahlad Singh Patel, Lok Sabha MPs Rakesh Singh, Uday Pratap, and Riti Pathak are the MPs who have resigned as MPs after winning from Madhya Pradesh.
