According to the Gujarat Police, this incident took place in Kheralu town of Gujarat. A police official has said that as soon as the stone pelting started, the policemen, who were accompanying the Shobha Yatra took action, immediately. It is reported that they have fired three rounds of tear gas shells. 15 people were arrested when the search operation conducted by the police after the incident happened.
The stone pelting happened when the procession was taken out on Sunday on the eve of Ramlal’s death anniversary!
Inspector General of Police Virendra Singh Yadav said this incident happened in Kheralu town. Three rounds of tear gas shells were fired. 15 people have been arrested after the incident. He also said that there was no report of serious injury to anyone in the stone pelting till now. Everyone is safe according to the reports. At present, the situation is totally under control and the peace has been maintained. But after the incident, police patrolling has been increased on the route of the Shobha Yatra.
But now, it is a matter of relief that the police immediately reached the spot and they brought this and the situation under control in no time. However to stop the violence, the police had to fire tear gas shells, and force was also used. But later 15 suspicious people were detained and their interrogation is still going on. The Gujarat police have confirmed that the ground situation is now under control.
According to a media report, Five people suffered minor injuries because of the stone pelting during the procession. A 62-year-old man, named Praveen Bhai Ambalal Barot who is from Kheralu, was coming from a wedding when these anti-social elements attacked. Due to this, he has suffered injuries to his head and hands. He got 8 stitches in his head and his hand was fractured. He is now has been referred to Vadnagar Civil Hospital.
