In the 46th match of IPL 2024, Chennai Super Kings performed brilliantly on their home ground and defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by a huge margin of 78 runs. Captain Ruturaj Gaikwad once again played a brilliant innings for Chennai. Chennai had lost the last two matches, but managed to return to the winning track, while Hyderabad suffered its second consecutive defeat.

After brilliant innings by captain Ruturaj Gaikwad and Daryl Mitchell, Chennai Super Kings defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by 78 runs due to the strong performance of the bowlers led by Tushar Deshpande. Chennai, batting first, scored 212 runs for three wickets in 20 overs on the basis of half-centuries by Gaikwad and Mitchell and a century partnership between the two batsmen for the second wicket. In reply, Hyderabad’s batting was very poor and the entire team was bundled out for 134 runs in 18.5 overs.

With the big win over Hyderabad, Chennai made a big jump of three places in the points table and has reached the third position in the table with 10 points with five wins, while the Hyderabad team is at the fourth position with two consecutive losses.
