The plane crash took place 56 years ago in Rohtang Pass of Himachal Pradesh. An-12 aircraft of the Indian Air Force was the victim of an accident. Four soldiers were killed in this accident. The bodies of all these four soldiers have been recovered after 56 years.
One of India’s longest running search operations has been successfully completed. Army officials informed that the bodies were recovered by a joint team of Dogra Scouts of the Indian Army and personnel of Tricolor Mountain Rescue.
On February 7, 1968, a turboprop transport aircraft went missing while on its way from Chandigarh to Leh. There were 102 army personnel in it.
