Four coaches and the engine of thr superfast passenger train, named Sabarmati-Agra Express got derailed in Rajasthan’s Ajmer. This incident happened early on Monday. Restoration work of the track is still underway. Although no news oo casualties have been reported so far, but several passengers have sustained injuries, according to the latest news.
According to the Railways officials, this express train was on its way to Agra when the derailment suddenly happened, according to them it happened at around 1 AM on Monday. Although Unconfirmed media reports are claiming that the Sabarmati-Agra express train had collided with a goods train that was coming from the other direction, and this caused the derailment. A railway official has claimed that the pilot of the locomotive applied emergency but the collision he could not avert the collision.
“The incident took place when the train crossed Ajmer station and it was about to reach Madar station. The reason for the derailment is not known yet. No injury or casualty has been reported. The train movement in the up/down direction towards the Delhi side has already started. We are about to start the services in the Uttar Pradesh direction too.” said Shashi Kiran, who is the Chief Public Relations Officer of North Western Railway (NWR) Zone.
