Amisha Patel is a 48-year-old (June 9, 1975) Indian actress who has made her mark in Bollywood and Tollywood. His career has gone from starring in one of the best blockbusters of the millennium to holding the record for the worst Bollywood film of all time.
Amisha made her acting debut in 2000 with the romantic thriller Kaho Na… Pyaar Hai, directed and produced by Rakesh Roshan. In which she played the role of Sonia Saxena, a rich businessman’s daughter who falls in love with Rohit, played by Hrithik Roshan. The movie was a major commercial success earning Ameesha, nominations for the Zee Cine Award for Best Female Debut and the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut.
In 2001, Patel appeared opposite Sunny Deol in Anil Sharma’s cross-border romance Ghadar: Ek Prem Katha, featuring the Indo-Pakistani War of 1947, which became the highest-grossing film of the year, grossing 973 million rupees. She won her first Filmfare Special Award for this film and was nominated for the Filmfare Award for Best Actress.
Patel’s career took a major downward turn after 2002 when he starred in three consecutive flops, his “asthmatic” performance in Vikram Bhatt’s ‘Aap Mujhe Achhe Lagane Lagae’, Naresh Malhotra’s ‘Kranti’ and David Dhawan’s comedy ‘Yeh Hai Jalwa’.
