Aamir Khan is not going to star in his next project Lahore 1947. He chose Sunny Deol in the lead role and this is the first time they are gonna work together on a film!
Amir has announced his next project as a producer. The Aamir Khan Productions will be working in Raj Kumar Santoshi’s next, film Lahore 1947 which will star Sunny Deol as lead. Rajkumar Santoshi and Sunny Deol have delivered three box office hits together in the form of ‘Ghayal’, ‘Damini’, and ‘Ghatak’. Looking at this impressive track record, it’s only natural to imagine that their upcoming project will be nothing short of epic.
“I, and the entire team at AKP, are most excited and happy to announce our next, starring Sunny Deol, directed by Raj Kumar Santoshi, titled Lahore, 1947. We look forward to collaborating with the immensely talented Sunny, and one of my favorite directors Raj Santoshi. The journey we have embarked on promises to be the most enriching. We seek your blessings, A,” Amir Khan wrote from the Instagram account of his production company.
Sunny Deol’s last film “Gadar 2” was a box office success. The film collected more than ₹525 crore at the box office and for just one day, became the highest-grossing Hindi film in India of all time after beating Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathan.
Earlier it was reported that the Gadar actor might take up the sequel to Border, however, that is not the case. Sunny Deol’s next film will be set in 1947, the year India gained independence and also the year India was divided into two countries before the British left the country. Lahore, 1947′ also marks the reunion of Aamir Khan and Santoshi after their iconic classic, ‘Andaz Apna Apna’. With such talented creative names coming together for the first time, it seems like a MEGA treat awaiting our audiences.
