Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor was summoned by the Enforcement Directorate in connection with the Mahadev online betting app case on Wednesday. He was directed to be present in front of the probe agency on October 10.

The company was promoted by Sourabh Chandrakar and Ravi Uppal and they were running operations from Dubai. According to the ED, this company is an umbrella syndicate arranging online platforms for enabling illegal betting websites. The Enforcement Directorate has seized assets worth approximately Rs.417 crore in connection with the Mahadev APP online betting case. They allegedly used the online book betting application to enroll new users, create user IDs, and launder money through a layered web of benami bank accounts, ED officials said.

Ranbir Kapoor promoted an online betting app as a social media influencer and allegedly received compensation in return for engaging in promotional endeavors on behalf of Mahadev’s betting app.
Apart from Ranbir Kapoor, some other celebrities like Tiger Shroff, Sunny Leone, Neha Kakkar, Atif Aslam, and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan are also under ED’s scanner. The digital evidence gathered by the Enforcement Directorate suggests that Rs 112 crore was delivered via hawala to an event management company, while payment for hotel bookings, costing Rs 42 crore, was made in cash.
the probing agency will also investigate their attendance at the wedding and success party of Mahadev app promoter Sourabh Chandrakar which happened earlier this year in the UAE.
Meanwhile, there have been a lot of talks around Ranbir Kapoor’s next film, Animal. Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, this film will also star Rashmika Mandanna as the female lead. The look posters and teaser have already been creating quite a hype amongst the fans. On the other hand, Director Ayan Mukerji announced that the second part of Brahmastra– Brahmastra Part Two: Dev– will be released in December 2026.
