Bharat Deb Verma, husband of actress Munmun Sen, died today, November 19, at his home in Kolkata at around 9 am. According to reports, due to his deteriorating physical condition, an ambulance was sent from a private hospital in Dhakuria, Kolkata to take him to the hospital.
An ambulance service from a private hospital in south Kolkata was called to his Harrington Street residence where 75-year-old Bharat Dev Varma with his family lived. According to reports, Bharat, husband of actor and former Trinamool Lok Sabha MP Munmun Sen, breathed his last before the ambulance could reach him. He was 83 years old. The cause of death is not yet known.
Bharat Dev Varma comes from the royal family of Tripura. Bharat’s mother Ila Devi was the princess of Cooch Behar and elder sister of Queen Gayatri Devi of Jaipur. Bharat’s grandmother Indira was the only daughter of Maharaja Serji Rao Gaekwad III of Vadodara. He was married to actress Munmun Sen and is the father of actresses Raima Sen and Riya Sen.
