Shah Rukh Khan’s film ‘Jawan’, which was released in September, received tremendous love from the audience. The audience liked the chemistry of Shahrukh and Nayanthara in the film. At the same time, the pairing of Shahrukh and Deepika Padukone in the film was also greatly appreciated by the audience.
However, did you know that King Khan had personally approached Deepika Padukone for the cameo role in this film? The film’s director Atlee has revealed this in a recent interview. Let us know what Atlee says.
Atlee says, ‘I asked Shahrukh’s manager Pooja Dadlani if we could approach Deepika for the role of Aishwarya in the film. He said yes, let’s talk to Shahrukh. Atlee says that when he went to talk to Shahrukh, the actor told him that he had already talked to Deepika about this role and she was interested, she would do it but first let her be free, only then we will let her do the film. Will tell the story and if she finds merit in it then she will do it.
Atlee says that after this he went to Hyderabad where Deepika was shooting for her film Kalki 2898 A.D. According to Atlee, Deepika had earlier refused to listen to the narration of the film.
Deepika had said, ‘Why do you have to narrate it to me, there is no need, I am doing a film’. Atlee says, ‘I told her, no ma’am, this is not a small character, it is the central pillar of the film, so before doing it you should know about the character.’ However, later Deepika heard the narration and she liked it very much.
