Honey Singh and Shalini Talwar Are Officially Divorced

Honey Singh and Shalini Talwar were together for more than 23 years. 13 years of marriage and 10 years of dating, altogether 23 years. But Salini Talwar has accused the rapper of multiple offenses under the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act. On 10 September 2022, the couple filed for divorce, and Singh reportedly paid Rs. 1 crore as alimony.

Delhi court has granted their divorce!

Principal judge of family court Paramjit Singh allowed the second motion filed in the matter which put an end to nearly two-and-a-half-year long litigation. According to the Hindu Marriage Act, the period of six to 18 months is granted as a period of interregnum, which is intended to give time and opportunity to the parties to reflect on their move to seek a divorce.

Shalini in August 2021 also approached Delhi Tis Hazari Court and filed a case of domestic violence against the YO-YO. A few days after the case was filed, Honey Singh wrote a post on social media, He called the allegations “odious”, “false” and “malicious”. However after they arrived at a settlement and alimony of Rs one crore last year, Shakini has withdrawn her case against Honey Singh.

Who is Shalini: the beginning and end of YoYo’s love life?

Shalini Talwar and Honey Singh were childhood sweethearts. Their romance started in 2001 when they were still in their teenage years. Their love blossomed during their time at Guru Nanak Public School in New Delhi. After dating for over a decade, they tied the knot in a traditional Sikh wedding. Honey Singh always kept his marital life a secret. He appeared as a single until Honey Singh became a judge on the reality music show India’s Raw Star when he finally introduced his wife to the public. Shalini Talwar made a special appearance on the show.

Their love story remained sweet, until in 2021, Shalini filed a case against Honey Singh under the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act. She mentioned that Honey Singh assaulted her during their honeymoon. She also alleged his involvement in an extramarital affair.
