Salman Khan gave his statement to Mumbai Police in the shootout at Galaxy Apartments in Mumbai. Salman Khan told Mumbai Police that I believe Lawrence Bishnoi carried out the shootout to kill me, and my family.
His statement recorded by the Anti-Extortion Cell of the Mumbai Crime Branch is part of the chargesheet that the police filed earlier this month. In the 1,735-page chargesheet, Salman Khan has shared details of threats he and his family have been receiving from Lawrence Bishnoi and his gang members for years.
In the statement, the actor said that the shootout incident took place in the early hours of April 14 when he was sleeping. “I heard a sound like a firecracker. Then, at around 4.55 pm, the police bodyguard said that two men on a bike had fired from a weapon on the balcony of the first floor of Galaxy Apartments. There have been attempts to hurt me and my family earlier too. I have also come to know that Lawrence Bishnoi has taken responsibility for the attack from social media, so I believe that it is the Lawrence Bishnoi gang that has fired at my balcony.” The actor further said that he came to know that Lawrence Bishnoi and his brother Anmol Bishnoi had taken responsibility for the attack in a Facebook post. “Earlier also Lawrence Bishnoi and his gang members had talked about killing me and my relatives in an interview. So, I believe that Lawrence Bishnoi with the help of his gang members carried out the firing incident when my family members were sleeping inside and were planning to kill me and my family members so they carried out the attack. Salman Khan and his brother Arbaaz Khan’s statements were released on June 4. The statements were recorded by a 5-member crime branch team. While the actor’s statement was recorded for nearly four hours, his brother Arbaaz’s statement was recorded for over two hours,” an official said.
Salman Khan also detailed the multiple occasions when he was threatened by Lawrence Bishnoi and his gang members. In his statement, the actor said that in 2022, his father – Salim Khan – had found a letter on a bench in front of his apartment building threatening him and his family.
“After that, in March 2023, an email was received on my official email from one of my team employees by Lawrence Bishnoi threatening me and my family. In this regard, a case was registered at Bandra Police Station by my team member,” the statement signed by the actor read.
He further added that in January this year, two men attempted to encroach upon his farmhouse in Panvel using fake names and identities. A case was also registered in this matter. Salman Khan said, “I came to know from the police that the two accused who tried to encroach on the farmhouse were from Fazilka village in Rajasthan, which is Lawrence Bishnoi’s village.” The actor said that he has asked his family members and relatives to always be alert and he has been provided Y plus security by the Mumbai Police.
