Legal Notice Issued: Shahrukh, Akshay, Ajay Take Action Against Gutkha Ad

The central government informed the Allahabad Court’s Lucknow bench that they had issued a notice to actor Shahrukh Khan, Akshay Kumar and Ajay Devgn. The notice is about an advertisements they did for gutka companies!! The notice was sent in response to a contempt petition. It is reported that Amitabh Bachchan also has sent a legal notice to that tobacco product manufacturing company regarding this ad controversy.

It is a known fact to everyone that Shahrukh khan, Ajay Devgan and Akshay Kumar appeared in a Gutka advertisement together this year. After the complaint was filed against the ad, legal notices were sent to these three actors. Are the three Bollywood actors will be go to jail?

All tobacco products are very harmful for for our body. But there is no ban on the sale of tobacco products in the country. But now our government has become quite strict about advertising about these products. Celebrities advertising these harmful products may cause a bad effect on society.

Lawyer Motilal Yadav filed a petition in the Allahabad High Court in August this year about this matter. His allegations were that, the court’s order on advertising Gutkha in September 2022 is being disobeyed by celebrities and this could be harmful for our society. According to him, if Padma Award-winning actors do such advertisements, these will make a deep impact on society.

The high court has sent notices to the Cabinet Secretary, the Chief Commissioner and the Central Consumer Protection Authority about this case. In response to that, the Deputy Solicitor General SB Pandey sent another notice to Lucknow Bench of the Allahabad High Court. Then the Allahabad High Court sent legal notice to those actors. the court scheduled the next hearing for May 9, 2024.

Why big Boss Amitabh Bachchan got angry?

Actor Amitabh Bachchan had sent a legal notice to pan masala brand Kamala Pasand for continuing to air ads featuring him, on 2021 . “Upon checking why this sudden move — it was revealed that when Mr Bachchan became associated with the brand, he wasn’t aware that it falls under surrogate advertising. Mr Bachchan has terminated the contract with the brand, has written to them his termination and returned the money received for the promotion,” a statement was sent from the actor’s office.
