The prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival took place on February 20th, in Mumbai. This was the 70th edition of this coveted ceremony. There is no need to mention that, the Dadasaheb Phalke award is the highest achievement for the film industry in India. All the biggest stars of the nation were present at the festival. Even so, the highlight of this year is King Khan winning the Best Actor award for ‘Jawan'(2023).
‘Jawan’ has been praised from the first day of its release. This film was no doubt King Khan’s grand comeback in the industry again. The nation already has accepted King Khan’s performance in ‘Jawan’ as one of the best performances, maybe the best by far. Now, his performance has got the most precious jewel in his crown, the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award.
From the official Instagram handle of Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival, a message was shared to celebrate Shahrukh Khan for his achievement:
“Raising the curtains to a round of applause for the inimitable @iamsrk. His portrayal in ‘Jawan’ has not only won hearts but also the prestigious Best Actor Award at Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival Awards 2024. Shahrukh Khan’s talent knows no bounds and his ability to immerse himself in every character he plays is truly commendable.
Here’s to a cinematic journey filled with brilliance and to many more accolades in the future!”
SRK’s heartwarming acceptance speech after being awarded with Dadasaheb Phalke-
“I am thankful to the jury members who decided that I deserve the award for the Best Actor. It’s been a while since I won the Best Actor Award. It appeared like I might never get my hand on another one again. Thus, I am ecstatic…I am a bit greedy, but I enjoy receiving awards…I am genuinely very touched by the gesture that people have recognised work I have put but once again work of an artist is not important, all the people working around him or her make everything come together…I promise I will keep working hard and entertain India and people who are living abroad for as many years as I can whether it takes me to dance, to fall, to fly, to romance, to be evil, to be a bad guy, to be a good guy…Inshallah, I will keep working hard”
