Stree 2 Review: The Best Horror Comedy of the Year—Laugh, Scream, and Enjoy!

Stree 2 Review: The credit for popularizing the horror-comedy genre goes to ‘Stree’, but when the makers have to make a sequel to their own successful and iconic horror-comedy, the challenge becomes tough. The filmmaker has to create such an imaginary world, which will scare you while making you laugh and make you laugh while scaring you. But when the audience, after becoming a part of that world, starts getting scared and starts crying, they understand that the fort is a victory. Director Amar Kaushik has not missed a beat in this series of scares and laughs.’Stree 2′ adds some surprising characters along with the charm of the characters from Part One. This time the combination of comedy and horror is no less deadly.

Review of ‘Stree 2’

Director Amar Kaushik provides a lot of fun in the first part of the story. From the entry of the terrifying demon to the fear of all the characters and the comedy arising from that fear, it offers a strong dose of entertainment, but the story becomes a bit average in the second half. The kind of world and visuals presented in the film regarding the destruction of the demon and his empire, VFX has been used excellently. The entry of Akshay Kumar along with Varun Dhawan in the climax not only adds to the entertainment quotient but also hints at the woman-wolf combination in this horror-comedy universe. In this sequel, director Amar Kaushik also talks about the issue of women’s freedom in an entertaining manner. Yes, the ending seems a bit drawn out. However, if we talk about music, songs like Aayi Nayi, Khoobsurat, and Aaj Ki Raat are already being liked by music lovers. Yes, background music could have been better.

Actor’s acting and climax twist in ‘Stree 2’

The acting aspect proves to be twenty in every way. The entire cast of the film has brought the horror-comedy alive through their characters. Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor as Bikki once again enrich the film with their roles. Rajkumar’s Desi accent and body language make one laugh a lot. Shraddha Kapoor looks very beautiful and powerful. Her scenes facing the monster have become very lively. She has acted through his eyes. The director should have given her more screen time. Pankaj Tripathi shines as Rudra, his one-liners tickle a lot, while Abhishek Banerjee in the role of Jana makes us laugh with all our might. Aparshakti Khurana gave a memorable performance. Tamannaah Bhatia has taken the nation with the item song, ‘Aaj Ki Raat’. The cameo characters of Akshay Kumar and Varun Dhawan have been brilliant.
