A review found that the CEO was not consistently candid in his communications with the board of directors. So, Open AI has removed its co-founder and CEO Sam Altman !!
OpenAI said on Friday that it had fired CEO Sam Altman as it no longer had confidence in his ability to lead the company. Sam Altman led the company that created ChatGPT a year ago. His being fired triggered an AI race, dropped praises for his former colleagues after he was sacked by the Microsoft-backed firm. The dismissal prompted co-founder Greg Brockman to announce his departure too. But Altman’s dismissal caught the technology world by surprise. He is a prominent figure in the artificial intelligence revolution. This firing was similar to that time when Steve Jobs was fired by the Apple board in 1985 and then later brought back in 1997.
Atman served as the public face of OpenAI. He showcased the generative AI technology capable of generating human-like responses to queries, during his global tour this year.
The co-founder and CEO expressed his love for the time he spent at OpenAI. He opened up about the transformative impact it had on him and the world. He also mentioned his admiration for the talented people he worked with.
“I loved my time at Openai. it was transformative for me, and hopefully the world a little bit. Most of all I loved working with such talented people. will have more to say about what’s next later,” he wrote on X.
OpenAI said the board was “grateful for Sam’s many contributions to the founding and growth of OpenAI. At the same time, we believe new leadership is necessary as we move forward,” it added.
