West Indies legend Kieron Pollard may have retired from international cricket, but he continues to dominate in league cricket. In the 19th match of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2025, Pollard, playing for Trinbago Knight Riders, delivered a stormy innings against St Kitts and Nevis Patriots. He stunned everyone by smashing 7 sixes in just 8 balls.
Trinbago Knight Riders did not have the best of starts, losing two wickets for just 27 runs. When Pollard walked in, the team was struggling at 78 for 3. Initially, Pollard managed only 12 runs from his first 13 deliveries. But then he exploded, hammering 7 sixes in the next 8 balls to complete his half-century off just 21 balls.
He hit three sixes in one over from Naveen Bidaisee, and then went on to smash four consecutive sixes off Waqar Salamkheil to reach his fifty. In total, Pollard scored 65 runs from just 29 deliveries at a strike rate of 224.13, including 2 fours and 8 sixes. Alongside Nicholas Pooran, he stitched a 90-run stand for the fourth wicket in just 49 balls.
Thanks to Pollard’s explosive knock, Trinbago Knight Riders finished on 179 for 6 in their 20 overs. Pooran also contributed with a valuable 52 off 38 balls, while Darren Bravo added 21 and Colin Munro chipped in with 17.
