BCCI has expressed its reluctance to send teams to neighboring countries. BCCI refused to accept Pakistan’s promise to give special privileges to Team India. Afghanistan has added to Pakistan’s woes as the weather heats up in the diplomatic battle between these cricketing powers.
India has already objected to Playing in Pakistan
Team India has already objected to hosting the Champions Trophy 2025 in Pakistan. It has also been clarified by the BCCI that they are not willing to go to school. Jai Shah and Roger Bini raised questions about the safety of the cricketers. India is also believed to be ready to go into direct conflict with the Pakistan Cricket Board. A few days ago, PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi appeared in Barbados to watch the T20 World Cup final. At that time, he submitted the draft schedule and proposed group format to the ICC. He also tried to get the green signal from the participating countries. ICC sources told news agency PTI that India has informed that it cannot announce any decision without consulting the central government.
Cricket circles believe that the Narendra Modi government will not agree to send Kohli, and Rohit to the western side of the Wagah border. Anticipating that Jay Shah and Roger Bini are already applying to ICC for the hybrid model. According to sources, India has already informed cricket’s apex body that they want to play their matches at some other neutral venue, rather than in Pakistan. Afghanistan is not willing to go to Pakistan
According to the proposed schedule handed over to the ICC by PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, the Afghans are scheduled to play against South Africa, England, and Australia respectively in the group stage on February 21, 25, and 28. Karachi, Lahore, and Rawalpindi, matches have been held in all three venues of the tournament. However, according to a report published in TheWirePak.com, a local news agency in Pakistan, Rashid Khan, Mohammad Nabi’s country’s cricket association has also raised questions about the players’ safety. They also asked to play their matches in a neutral country, not Pakistan. Afghanistan’s concerns are sure to benefit India. The tournament may be moved from Pakistan due to the objections of both countries.
