ICC ODI World Cup 2023 will be held this year in India from October 5 to November 19. ICC Announced The Schedule For The Mega Event. After That, All 10 teams of the tournament have to announce their final 15-member team by 28 September. Any change in the team after this date will require ICC’s permission. 7 out of 10 teams have announced their 15-member squad for the World Cup. India, Australia, Afghanistan, England, Netherlands, New Zealand, and South Africa have announced. Only three teams Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka have not yet announced their World Cup teams.
This will be the 13th edition of the ODI World Cup and it will start on October 5 with the match between England and New Zealand to be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The World Cup final will also be played on this ground on November 19.
A total of 10 teams will play in this year’s World Cup. This will be the first time in 48 years since the first ODI World Cup, which started in 1975, that West Indies will not play the World Cup. The Windies team could not qualify for the World Cup. During the 2023 ODI World Cup, 48 matches will be played on 10 grounds in India.
The Indian cricket team has won the ODI World Cup title twice so far (1983, 2011). India will start its campaign against Australia on October 8 and then face Pakistan on October 14.
In the round-robin format, each team will play each other once. The top four teams after the league stage will advance to the semi-finals. The first semi-final will be played on 15 November at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai and the second on 16 November at Eden Gardens, Kolkata. The final will be held on November 19 at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
