The Indian cricket team will play the ODI World Cup (ODI World Cup-2023) match against New Zealand on Sunday. The team captained by brilliant opener Rohit Sharma has not lost any match in the tournament so far. Even before this, big news came out on Saturday evening. A young player of the team, Ishan Kishan, was stung by a bee during net practice.
Ishan Kishan was stung by a bee on the eve of the ICC ODI World Cup match against New Zealand in Dharamshala. Due to this, he left his practice session midway. Before the match, Ishan Kishan also participated in the first session of batsmen in the nets. He was practicing batting against pacer Mohammad Siraj. During this time a bee stung his neck.
When Kishan was stung by a bee, he immediately threw his bat away. He went out of the nets. After a few minutes, the physio also came to him. After this, the wicketkeeper-batsman went out of the nets. Then he was holding his neck. In the absence of injured Hardik Pandya, Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav are contenders for a place in the team. Hardik is not available for the match against New Zealand due to injury.
Meanwhile, Suryakumar Yadav also faced the possibility of injury as he was hit by a ball on his right wrist during the practice session. Before the batsman decided to cut his session short, the support staff came in and watched him for some time. He came out of the net holding his right wrist and immediately the physio asked him to apply an ice pack on the affected area.
The Indian team will play a match against New Zealand on October 22 at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamshala. India has won all four of its matches in the tournament so far. At the same time, New Zealand has also won all four matches. However, the New Zealand team is on top in the points table due to a better net run rate.
