Ben Stokes Set To Be Released By CSK Before IPL 2024 Auction

The IPL 2024 auction is less than a month away and most of the franchises are making new plans with their teams. According to reports, CSK may release Ben Stokes ahead of the franchise auction. This is because there are many doubts about Stokes’ participation in IPL 2024 as he will now undergo surgery on his left knee and will take around two months to recover from it. Reports suggest that the CSK management has also spoken to Stokes in this regard. Chennai bought Stokes for Rs 16.25 crore in the IPL 2023 auction.

A CSK official said, “We wouldn’t have thought of dropping Stokes if he was available because he is a big-match player and we respect him a lot. But if he can’t do it for the whole season, then we will have Rs 16 crore. We can get some good players with that money.”
