Rohit Sharma was removed from the captaincy of Mumbai Indians ahead of IPL 2024 and Hardik Pandya was appointed as the new captain in his place. However, the fans did not like this and they supported Rohit with the slogan ‘Mumbai ka Raja Rohit Sharma’ throughout the tournament.
Now Bollywood actor Riteish Deshmukh has given his opinion on Mumbai ka Raja. During the promotion of his upcoming film, he jokingly said that even though Hardik is the captain of MI, Rohit will always be the king of Mumbai.
Riteish Deshmukh recently spoke in a podcast interview with journalist Shubhankar Mishra on YouTube channel. Fellow actor Saqib Saleem was also present with Deshmukh. Shubhankar Mishra has shared a video clip of that podcast interview. In the video, he asks who is the king of Mumbai. To this, Deshmukh says that the captain is Hardik, but the king is Rohit Sharma.
