England has announced its 15-player squad for the Cricket World Cup 2023, starting next month. Jason Roy, who missed the series against New Zealand due to recurring back spasms, has been left out of England’s World Cup squad. Jos Buttler will lead the team in the tournament.

England: Jos Buttler (Captain), Moeen Ali, Gus Atkinson, Jonny Bairstow, Sam Curran, Liam Livingstone, Dawid Malan, Adil Rashid, Joe Root, Harry Brook, Ben Stokes, Reece Topley, David Willey, Mark Wood, Chris Woakes.
England men’s national selector, Luke Wright, said, “We have picked a team we are confident can go to India and win the World Cup. “We have been blessed with an incredibly strong group of white-ball players, which was underlined by the performances in the series win against a very good New Zealand team.”
“The strength of the group means that with Jason Roy out and Harry Brook coming into the squad, we have had to make some tough decisions on world-class players,” he added.
