ENGLAND SQUAD & SCHEDULE FOR T20 WORLD CUP 2024

The England cricket team has announced its 15-member squad for the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. The command of the English team has been handed over to Jos Buttler. Joffra Archer, Chris Jordan, and Harry Brook have returned to this team. England’s Test team captain Ben Stokes is not included in this team.

England is currently the world champion of the T20. This England team includes strong hitters like captain Jos Buttler, Phil Salt, and Harry Brook. Harry Brook had withdrawn his name from the India tour and 2024 IPL after the death of his grandmother.

In such a situation, many players will not be able to play the qualifiers, eliminators, and final matches.

Joffra Archer returns to the England team

Joffra Archer is returning to the team at the international level for the first time since March 2023. Along with Archer, the fast bowling department will be led by Mark Wood and Reece Topley along with all-rounder Sam Kare. Other all-rounders in the team include Moeen Ali, while Livingstone and Will Jack are capable of bowling a few overs.

Tom Hartley got his chance

Adil Rashid is the main spinner of the England team. He will get support from Moeen in bowling. Lancashire’s left-arm spinner Tom Hartley impressed on his Test debut in India earlier this year, but having yet to play a T20I, his inclusion is largely a surprise.

Before the World Cup, England will play four T20 matches against Pakistan. All these matches will be held on 22 May at Headingley, 25 May at Edgbaston, 28 May at Cardiff, and 30 May at The Oval. In the World Cup, England will play Scotland on June 4, Australia on June 8, Oman on June 13, and Namibia on June 15 in the first round.
