GT vs PBKS IPL 2024 17th Match:Punjab snatched victory from Gujarat’s jaws with Shashank Singh’s stormy innings!

In a breath-taking thrilling match, Punjab Kings snatched victory from the jaws of Gujarat Titans.Gujarat, batting first, scored 199 runs for four wickets with the help of captain Shubman Gill’s unbeaten 89 runs in 48 balls with the help of six fours and four sixes. Punjab Kings did not have a good start while chasing the target, but Shashank and Ashutosh Sharma, who entered the field as impact sub, brought the team back into the match.

The hero of this victory of Punjab was uncapped Shashank Singh, who came at number six and played an unbeaten inning of 61 runs in 29 balls. At one time, in front of the challenging total of 200 runs, half of the Punjab team had returned to the pavilion at just 111 runs. All the greats were sitting in the dugout. From here, Shashank Singh played a courageous inning and gave a surprising victory to Punjab Kings.Shashank Singh made a match-winning partnership of 41 runs in 22 balls with Sikandar Raza for the fifth wicket, 39 runs in 19 balls with Jitendra Sharma for the sixth wicket and 43 runs in 22 balls with impact debutant Anirudh Sharma for the seventh wicket. This is Punjab Kings’ second win in four matches and Gujarat Titans’ second defeat in four matches.

Gujarat Titans had posted a strong total of 199 runs after losing the toss at their home ground i.e. Narendra Modi Stadium, the world’s largest stadium. While playing the captaincy innings, Shubhman Gill played an unbeaten inning of 89 runs in 48 balls with the help of four sixes and six fours. He missed his first century of the season by just two shots.He also made a 53-run partnership with Sai Sudarshan (33) for the third wicket. He made an unbroken partnership of 35 runs in 14 balls with Rahul Tewatia (23 not out in eight balls) and took the team’s score close to 200 runs. For Punjab, both Kagiso Rabada and Harshal Patel gave away the same 44 runs in four overs each. Rabada got two wickets while Harshal got one wicket.
