Gujarat Titans (GT), one of the two recent new franchises of IPL, has had a great journey so far. The team, which made its debut in the tournament in 2022, won the very first edition. This team, captained by Hardik Pandya, was successful in reaching the final in the second edition of IPL 2023. GT has retained Hardik Pandya before the IPL 2024 auction.
Before the retention deadline, rumors of Hardik Pandya going to Mumbai Indians for IPL 2024 had gained momentum. But till now these have proved to be just rumours. Gujarat has retained Hardik. While they have released a total of 8 players. This also includes Dasun Shanaka of Sri Lanka. GT has also shown the way out to fast bowlers Shivam Mavi and Yash Dayal.
The purse for each team for the IPL 2024 auction was increased by Rs 5 to Rs 100 crore from last year’s Rs 95 crore. The valuation of players from each franchise on the day of the auction will determine how much money will be released. Each team will receive a budget of Rs 100 crore (approximately US$12.02 million) from the IPL 2024 auction to prepare their roster for the upcoming season.
