The 17th season of IPL 2024 has ended. The last match of the IPL was played between Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at Chepauk Stadium, Chennai. The final match between these two teams was very exciting. In this match, the Kolkata Knight Riders team won against Sunrisers Hyderabad and managed to win the title for the third time.
This year, the batsmen have dominated more than the bowlers in the IPL. Many high-scoring matches have been seen this season. Every year, the Purple Cap is given to the bowler who takes the most wickets in the IPL. This year, Punjab Kings fast bowler Harshal Patel has won the Purple Cap. Harshal Patel took 24 wickets in 14 matches of the IPL this season. He remained at the forefront in terms of taking wickets. The player who wins the Purple Cap will be given Rs 15 lakh.
However, despite this strong performance by Harshal Patel, the Punjab Kings team was eliminated from the tournament much earlier. The Punjab Kings could not even reach the playoffs. After Harshal Patel, Varun Chakraborty’s name is in second place in this list with 21 wickets. At number three is Jasprit Bumrah of Mumbai Indians, who has taken 20 wickets in his name after playing 13 matches.
Apart from Harshal Patel, Arshdeep Singh of Punjab Kings also performed tremendously in the IPL this season. Arshdeep Singh took 19 wickets in 14 matches of the IPL. Harshal Patel may be ahead of Arshdeep Singh in terms of taking wickets. But despite this, only Arshdeep Singh has been selected for the T20 World Cup team. Harshal Patel could not make his place in the T20 World Cup.
