Fast bowler Harshit Rana’s hopes of making his international debut in the India vs Bangladesh T20 series have been dashed. Harshit’s health deteriorated before the third T20 to be held in Hyderabad on Saturday. He has got a viral infection. Harshit was not available for the last match due to infection. He did not even go to the stadium with the team. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) gave this information about the bowler.
Harshit missing out on his debut means that he will remain an uncapped player till the IPL retention players list comes out. This list will be released by October 31. Actually, according to the IPL retention rules, the player who does not make his international cricket debut by October 31 will be considered uncapped. Harshit Kolata is part of the Knight Riders (KKR), which captured the IPL 2024 trophy.
The fast bowler impressed a lot in the last IPL season. However, whether KKR will retain Harshit for the upcoming season or not is hidden in the womb of the future. However, if a franchise wants to retain an uncapped player, it will have to spend only Rs 4 crore. A team can retain a maximum of five capped and a maximum of two uncapped players.
