How can Mumbai Indians still secure a place in the playoffs?

Mumbai Indians is the highest IPL trophy winning team in the history of IPL till now. But this year Mumbai is in a dire position. Their performance did not serve well. Under the captaincy of Hardik Pandya the team has lost 8 matches and could win only 3. After losing the last match against Kolkata, it became more clear that Mumbai’s chance to secure a place in the playoffs have become slim. It was also said that Mumbai could be the first team to be eliminated from the list of playoffs. But a prediction from cricbuzz is still giving hope that there are still chances in which Mumbai can make it to the playoffs.

The task is very complicated for Mumbai

 To make it to the playoffs Mumbai have to win the remaining three matches. The wins will take them to 12 points. LSG and SRH need to lose their remaining game and that will make sure MI is in the same position with LSG and SRH. CSK also needs to lose each of their remaining matches and stay at 12 points. The other renaming teams need to stay exactly where they are. This is a very hypothetical situation but only possibilities that can assure Mumbai’s ticket to the playoffs.
