Delhi Capitals captain Rishabh Pant finally found his form in IPL 2024 and scored a crucial half-century against Chennai Super Kings in Visakhapatnam. But, for his team’s slow over rate during the match, he has been fined.
Recovering from consecutive low scores, Pant played aggressive innings in the match against Chennai Super Kings. They took advantage of a solid opening partnership between David Warner and Prithvi Shaw to propel the DC innings.
His innings of 51 runs off 32 balls with the help of four fours and three sixes provided the much-needed momentum and helped DC reach the target of 191 runs for 5 wickets.
Even after performing so well in the match, the DC captain has been found guilty for the breach of contract. The official IPL statement stated,“Rishabh Pant, the Delhi Capitals captain, has been fined after his team maintained a slow over rate during their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 match against Chennai Super Kings at the Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium, Visakhapatnam on March 31,”
