After long debates and meetings, the ICC has finally released the schedule for the Champions Trophy 2025. On 23 February, arch-rivals India and Pakistan (IND v PAK) will play a great match in Dubai.
After the consent of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), the ICC will organize the 2025 Champions Trophy under a hybrid model. Under this model, India will play all its matches in Dubai, which has been chosen as a neutral venue.
Under the ICC’s hybrid model, this tournament will be organized in two countries: Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Pakistan is the official host of the 2025 Champions Trophy. The tournament is being organized under the hybrid model after India refused to go to Pakistan.
The tournament will start with a match between Pakistan and New Zealand, which will be played in Karachi on 19 February, while the final will be on 9 March. The venue equation for the title match is slightly different. If India reaches the final, it will be played in Dubai, but if Team India fails to qualify, Lahore will host the final.
The Indian Cricket Team will start its campaign with a match against Bangladesh in Dubai on February 20. Team India will then face Pakistan on February 23 and New Zealand on March 2. India has been placed in Group A with Pakistan, Bangladesh, and New Zealand, while Group B, which is being called the Group of Death, has Australia, England, South Africa, and Afghanistan.
The 19-day tournament will have 15 matches between 8 teams. Rawalpindi, Lahore, and Karachi will be the three venues for the tournament in Pakistan. Each Pakistani venue will have three group matches, with Lahore hosting the second semi-final.
