The countdown for T20 World Cup 2024 has started. At present, all the players are providing their services in IPL 2024 being played in India. Let us tell you all, that now only 23 days are left before the start of the T20 World Cup 2024. Preparations have already been made for the T20 World Cup 2024. The first match will be played between USA and Canada in Dallas on Saturday, June 1. Let us tell you, this time 20 teams are participating in the tournament instead of 16.
T20 World Cup 2024 will be played this time in co-hosting between the West Indies and the United States. India has been placed in Group A. Pakistan, America, Canada, and Ireland are also in this group. India has to play its first match against Ireland. This match will be played in New York on June 5. The great match between India and Pakistan will be played in New York on June 9. On June 15, India will play its last group match against Canada in Florida.
The upcoming T20 World Cup is to be played in the West Indies and USA from June 1 to June 29. The 20-team tournament will be played in three stages including total knockout. All 20 teams will be divided into four groups of 5 each. The top 2 teams of each group will enter the Super-8. After this, all 8 teams will be divided into two groups of 4-4. In the Super-8 stage, the top two teams of both groups will enter the semi-finals. Two teams will make it to the finals through two semi-final matches.
The number of teams in the T20 World Cup 2024 has been increased from 16 to 20. All the teams have been divided into four groups of five each. The top two teams of all groups will qualify for the Super 8. In Super 8, all the teams will be divided into two groups of four each. The top two teams of both groups will qualify for the semi-finals. After this, the final match will be played between the winners of the semi-finals on June 29.
A total of three places in the United States and six places in the West Indies have been given the chance to host. The tournament will start on June 1. In which the co-host the United States will face its arch-rival Canada. Fellow hosts West Indies will play Papua New Guinea in Guyana on the second day of group play.
