In the ongoing ODI series between India and Australia, India has won its second consecutive ODI match, whereas this is Australia’s fifth consecutive defeat before the World Cup. Due to strong batting and bowling, the Indian team won the second ODI match by 99 runs and the series 2-0. Indian spin bowlers also completely dominated the match.
Batting first, thanks to its centuries, India gave Australia a huge target of 400 runs. But due to the interruption of play due to rain, Australia was given a new target of 317 runs in 33 overs due to the DLS method. Batting first, India’s opener Shubman Gill scored a century of 104 runs in 97 balls with the help of 6 fours and 4 sixes. While supporting him, middle-order batsman Shreyas Iyer scored 105 runs in 90 balls with 11 fours and 3 sixes.
At the end of the Indian innings, Suryakumar Yadav played a brilliant innings while batting at number five. He hit four consecutive sixes off four balls of Australian fast bowler Cameron Green. Proving himself in ODI, Suryakumar scored 72 runs in just 37 balls, hitting 6 fours and 6 sixes. Due to this India’s score became huge on the Indore pitch.
Indian pacer Prasidh Krishna continuously attacked the Australian team which came to bat before the rain. He sent openers Matthew Short (9) and Steve Smith (0) to the pavilion by taking two consecutive wickets in the second and first over of the innings.
At the same time, after the rain, the spin pair of Ravi Ashwin and Jadeja defeated the Kangaroos team which came on the field with a new target. Ashwin sent Marnus Labuschagne out bowled and Josh English LBW to the pavilion in the same over. Ashwin took three important wickets giving 42 runs in 7 overs in the spell. On the other hand, Ravindra Jadeja took three wickets for 42 runs in 5.2 overs. Apart from this, Indian fast bowler Prasidh Krishna took two wickets and Mohammed Shami took one wicket.
