Team India again showed magic at the Maharashtra Cricket Stadium in Pune. India defeated Bangladesh by seven wickets. This is Team India’s fourth consecutive win in the ODI World Cup. With this victory, India strengthened their position at second place in the points table. Bangladesh won the toss and batted first, losing eight wickets and scoring 256 runs. In reply, India scored 261 runs for the loss of three wickets in 41.3 overs and won the match. Virat Kohli ended the match with a six for India and, also completed his 48th century in ODI cricket.
The Bangladesh team made a great start by batting first on this day. Kalgham rushed the Indian bowlers as they broke their opening pair. However, since this pair separated, Bangladesh could not make big runs. At one point it looked like they would reach 300 runs. But, it didn’t happen anymore. Liton Das scored 66 runs for them. Tanjid Hasan played an innings of 51 runs. In the end, Mahmudullah played an innings of 46 runs and took the team’s score close to 250 runs. Mushfiqur Rahim contributed 38 runs. Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammad Siraj, and Ravindra Jadeja took two wickets each for India. Shardul Thakur and Kuldeep Yadav got one wicket each.
India got off to a good start chasing runs. Mercatori batted first and broke all the resistance of Bangladesh. Despite not scoring big runs, Shubman Gill did the job for the team with 53 runs and Rohit Sharma with 48 runs. KL Rahul also scored an unbeaten 34 runs. But Virat Kohli took all the limelight and scored 103 runs for India. For Bangladesh, Mehdi Hasan took two wickets and Hasan Mahmud took one wicket. India’s next match is against New Zealand. Both teams occupy the top two positions in the points table and are the only teams who are unbeaten so far. In this case, this match to be held on October 22 will be very exciting.
