IND vs PAK: Kohli and Rahul’s Centuries Put India Ahead, Pakistan in Trouble After First Innings

The India-Pakistan (IND vs PAK) Super Four match is being held on Monday. On Sunday, Pakistan won the toss and elected to bowl first in this match. The duo of Rohit and Gill gave India a great start. The Indian duo put Pakistan on the back foot with 31 runs in the first three overs of the dangerous Shaheen Afridi. At the other end, Naseem Shah bowled well but the Indian pair did not give him a wicket. Both scored 61 runs in the powerplay. Both then completed their respective fifties and India’s score stood at 115 after 15 overs.

Great start from Gill-Rohit

Shadab Khan gave Pakistan their first success by catching Rohit Sharma off Faheem Ashraf. Rohit scored 56 runs off 49 balls with the help of six fours and four sixes. When Rohit got out, India’s score was 121 runs. But in the next over, Gill caught Agha Salman with Shaheen’s slow ball. Gill got out with 58 runs off 52 balls with 10 fours. India lost two openers for 123 runs in 17.5 overs. Then Virat Kohli and Rahul took control of the innings.

Record partnership between Rahul and Virat

Virat Kohli and Lokesh Rahul led the innings after Team India lost two wickets by two runs. India’s score was 147/2 at the close of play on Sunday. The match then reached Reserve Day as no more play was played due to rain. The next day too, both started from the same spot and batted brilliantly to take India’s score to 200 in 33 overs. First Rahul completes his half century and then Kohli completes his 50 runs.

Both continued to score quick runs in the century pair. Lokesh Rahul completed his century off 100 balls and Virat Kohli completed his century off 84 balls. India added 56 runs in the last five overs. Virat ended the match brilliantly with two fours and a six off the last three balls to take India’s score to 356 runs.

Virat Kohli remains unbeaten after scoring 122 runs off 94 balls with nine fours and three sixes. During this time, he scored his 47th ODI century and became the fastest batsman to reach 13,000 runs in ODIs. Whereas, Lokesh Rahul remained unbeaten after scoring 111 off 106 balls with 12 fours and two sixes.
