IND vs PAK: Mohammed Siraj Dismisses Abdullah Shafiq LBW, Pakistani Batsman Stunned

The World Cup 2023 match between India and Pakistan (IND vs PAK) is being played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Pakistan’s batsmen Abdullah Shafiq and Imam-ul-Haq made a good start. Together, both of them batted well against Indian bowlers Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammad Siraj. Siraj gave India its first success by dismissing Shafiq.

Siraj did not start well. Imam-ul-Haq had hit three fours in the very first over of Mohammad Siraj. The Pakistani opening pair made a good start. Indian bowlers continuously bowled on the pads of Pakistani batsmen and they had to suffer the consequences of this. But Siraj changed his strategy. Instead of swinging the ball, he decided to bowl the cross-seam ball.

This ball of the 8th overcame after being hit. It also had less bounce. Shafiq could not understand whether he should come on the front foot or play the ball with the back foot. The ball was very low and hit his pad just like that. The umpire did not delay in raising his finger. Shafiq asked his fellow batsman Imam about the review. But the Imam denied this. This was the decision because in the replay it was clear that the ball had hit the middle stump.

As soon as Abdullah arrived, the 1.25 lakh spectators present in the stadium jumped with joy. And the happiness on Rohit Sharma’s face was also visible.

Shafiq was included in the Pakistani team in place of Fakhar Zaman for the match against Sri Lanka. Shafiq is considered a technically very capable batsman. And he also proved it. He scored a century in that match and helped Pakistan achieve a record target in the World Cup.
