IND vs AFG: India Needs to Chase 273 Runs to Win Against Afghanistan in the 2023 World Cup

India faces Afghanistan in their second ODI World Cup match. Team India will look to win this match to maintain their winning streak and improve their position in the points table. At the same time, Afghanistan will be looking for victory. Afghanistan won the toss and decided to bat first. Afghanistan lost their first match against Bangladesh. On the other hand, India started this tournament with a win.

Rohit Sharma’s team defeated Australia by 6 wickets in their first match. On this day, the Afghan team performed well when they came to bat first. The Afghanistan team made 272 runs in their allotted 50 overs. This is the highest run of Afghanistan in ODI against India. Rohit has to make 273 to win. Captain Hashmatullah Shahidi contributed the highest score of 80 runs. Apart from this, Azmatullah Omarzai scored 62 runs.

Apart from these two, the Afghan batsmen got off to a good start but none could play a big innings. Ibrahim Zadran was the team’s third-highest scorer with 22 runs. Jasprit Bumrah took the maximum four wickets for India. Hardik Pandya got two wickets, and Shardul and Kuldeep got one wicket each. Siraj proved to be the most expensive in this match. He scored 76 runs in nine overs without taking any wickets.
