In the Asia Cup 2023, when the teams of India and Nepal will face each other on Monday, it will be the first encounter between the two teams in any format. In this encounter, both the teams will be eyeing a win to qualify for the Super-Four. Pakistan has already qualified for the Super Four stage with three points from Group A, while India is on one point after Saturday’s match against Pakistan was called off.
Even if the match against Nepal gets washed out due to rain, Team India will reach the Super-4. But Rohit Sharma’s team would never want him to reach Super-4 like this. Nepal got a crushing defeat by Pakistan by 238 runs in their first match of the Asia Cup. In such a situation, his eyes will be on improving his performance against India and leaving a mark.
Indian batsmen Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill failed to perform well against Pakistan. If India has to defeat Nepal then both these batsmen will have to give a good start. Virat Kohli was also out early in the last match. He will also be eager to score runs. Hardik Pandya and Ishan Kishan played half-century innings against Pakistan. The team would like to perform like this again. The bowlers will also have to perform well.
Nepal’s top order had completely collapsed in front of Pakistani bowling. If they have to beat India then the top order will have to score runs. While the middle order would like to contribute with the bat, the bowlers will also have to support the batsmen and trouble the Indian batsmen. Nepal will have to give its 100% to win the match.
It has been cloudy here in recent days and hence the fast bowlers may get help from the new ball. The track will become easier for batting as the match progresses.
