In the Asian Games 2023, the Indian women’s cricket team defeated the Sri Lankan women’s cricket team by 19 runs in the final match. Along with this, India has also won the gold medal. In fact, the final match of women’s cricket in the 19th Asian Games was played between the Indian women’s cricket team and the Sri Lankan women’s cricket team at Pingfeng Campus Cricket Field, Hangzhou, where Team India won the gold medal.
Sri Lanka had achieved the target of 117 runs
In the final match, India had given a target of 117 runs in 20 overs to the Sri Lankan women’s cricket team, chasing which the team could score only 97 runs at the loss of 8 wickets in 20 overs. The team had a bad start and lost three wickets for just 14 runs. But after that, a good partnership (36) developed between Hasni Perera and Neelakshi de Silva, but Rajeshwari Gaikwad broke this innings.
Hasni Perera scored the highest score of 25 runs for the team. Apart from this, Neelakshi de Silva scored 23 runs. Oshadi Ranasinghe scored 19 runs and captain Chamari Athapaththu scored 12 runs. Apart from this, other batsmen could not even score 10 runs. However, the team had to face a crushing defeat by 17 runs in the final of the 16th Asian Games.

Titas Sandhu recorded a maximum of 3 wickets in the final. After this Rajeshwari Gaikwad took 2 wickets. For Sri Lanka, Prabodhni, Sugandhika Kumari and Ranveera have taken 2-2 doors.
Team India scored 116 runs
Indian women’s team, batting first in the final match, scored 116 runs at the loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs. Smriti Mandhana played an inning of 46 runs for the team. Apart from this, Jemimah Rodrigues scored 42 runs. Apart from this, Shefali Verma (9), Richa Ghosh (9), Harmanpreet Kaur (2), Pooja Vastrakar (2), Dipti Sharma (1) and Amanjout Kaur scored 1 run.
