On the other hand, after a 3-0 defeat against Australia, the Indian team has slipped down the points table of the World Test Championship.
Team India will aim to reach the top of the WTC
Currently, the Australian team tops the list followed by the Indian team in second place. Talking about the last two WTCs, both times the Indian team played in the WTC finals. However, Team India did not get the ICC’s mess. The next target of the Indian team is the series against England (IND vs ENG), India and England will play a 5-match Test series. India and England are going to play the first Test in Hyderabad on January 25, the last time England played a 4-match Test series on Indian soil where the Indian team won the series by a margin of 3-1.
The upcoming series is going to be very challenging and important for the Indian team. The BCCI has announced their India squad for the first two Tests against England on Friday, January 12. Ishan Kishan and Mohammed Shami will be absent from the first two matches of this series. However, there was no place in the new team for Cheteshwar Pujara, whom Ranji shook. New faces appeared in the team, Drub Jharal made a place in the national test team. The first Test match is scheduled for January 25 in Hyderabad. Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam, Rajkot, Rachi, and Dharamsala are scheduled for the long 5-match Test series.
