IPL 2025: Nitish Rana Parts Ways with KKR; Wife Sanchi Expresses Emotional Farewell

The two-day IPL 2025 auction in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, saw many unexpected bids. Meanwhile, Rajasthan Royals added Nitish Rana, who has been playing for Kolkata Knight Riders for seven years, to the auction for Rs 4.20 crore.

During this, KKR did not lift the paddle even once to bid on Nitish Rana. Which made it clear that KKR is no longer in the mood to keep Nitish with them. Nitish Rana’s wife Sanchi Marwah probably did not like this. She shared a cryptic post on X, which fans are calling a taunt on KKR.

Nitish Rana was bought by Rajasthan Royals

Let us tell you that Rajasthan Royals placed a big bid on Nitish Rana in the IPL 2025 mega auction and added him to them for Rs 4.20 crore. Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore also bid for Nitish, but Rajasthan won the final bid.

KKR did not bid for Nitish even once

During this time, KKR did not raise the paddle even once for Rana. Nitish has been a part of Kolkata Knight Riders for the last seven years. In IPL 2023, Nitish Rana took over the command of the team in the absence of Shreyas Iyer. Nitish Rana’s wife Sanchi did not like KKR’s attitude. Sharing her feelings on the ex through a post, she said, ‘Loyalty is very expensive; not everyone can digest it.’

KKR bid 23.75 crores for Venkatesh Iyer

Kolkata Knight Riders retained 6 players at the time of IPL retention, including Rinku Singh, Sunil Narine, Varun Chakraborty, Andre Russell, Harshit Rana, and Ramandeep Singh. During the IPL auction, KKR spent Rs 50.95 crore on 15 new players. KKR bought Venkatesh Iyer for 23.75 crores, ignoring Nitish Rana.
